Amparo Velez 93, of Yuba City, passed away on March 23, 2013. She was born in Puerto Rico on August 1, 1919 and had been a Yuba Sutter resident since 1981.

She had been a secretary for Chase Manhattan Bank. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville, CA, a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 640, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Alter Society.

Survivors include granddaughters, Margie Khan of Yuba City, CA, Yvette Jones of Yuba City, CA and Laura Velez of Puerto Rico; grandsons, Paul Velez of Yuba City, CA and David Velez of San Diego, CA, and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan A. Velez, son, David Velez, daughter, Annabel Stalions and many brothers and sisters.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville, CA with Father Juan Perez officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the Rosary on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. Burial will be at Sutter Cemetery.
