I.B. "Barney" Stowers, 96, of Yuba City, CA, died peacefully on November 3, 2016. Born Isom Byram Stowers in Berry, Arkansas on August 13, 1920, he lived his life there until he was drafted into the US Navy in 1943 to serve during World War II. Deploying out of Treasure Island, CA, he spent 2 years in the South Pacific, earning three service medals before being discharged in 1945, when he moved to Yuba City, CA in November 1945.

He started his "short" career with Del Pero Bros. on January 1st, 1946, the same year he met and married his "Darling Dorothy" who passed away in April 1995. Together, they had three children, Terry, Linda (deceased) and Rick. He was Baptized at Gray Ave. Church of Christ in 1977. Barney was a dedicated employee for Del Pero Bros., retiring after 55 years of service.

Barney is survived by his children, Terry (Shirlene) and Rick, 6 grandchildren who absolutely adore him and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Home in Marysville. Services will be on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Sutter Cemetery with a reception to follow at his granddaughter's home in Sutter.
