Carlos Mendoza was granted his angel wings on July 23, 2018. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his short yet very memorable life. Carlos was a loving brother, uncle, son, grandson and friend to all that knew him.

Carlos was born on a beautiful evening on August 1, 1987, in Marysville, California to Gloria and Manuel Mendoza, and named after his grandfather. He was a lifetime resident of Marysville and graduated from Marysville Charter School. He worked for Ace Hardware in Rocklin as a material handler for almost 10 years.

He is survived by his parents, Gloria and Manuel Mendoza; his big brothers and best friends, Emanuel Mendoza (Blanca) and Steve Hicks; his sister, Chay Hicks; his nieces/kids, Gloria and Emily Hicks, Angelica and Isabella Mendoza; his nephews/kids, Steven Hicks, Elijah and Marcos Mendoza.

He is survived by his paternal AMA and APA, Carlos and Elena Mendoza, and his maternal grandma, Lupe Rojas; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his maternal abuelo, Dolores Rojas; and his uncle, Martin Mendoza; his aunts, Lupe Rojas and Luz Rojas.

The family would like to extend their infinite gratitude, for the loving care and dedication they gave to our loving Carlos, to Rideout Cancer Center staff and doctors, especially Dr. Pamela Oster, his adoptive sister, Jenny, our prayer warrior, Anita O'Kelleyburchett, and our St. Joseph's Catholic family.

A viewing will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 2 to 7 PM, at Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Home, 629 D Street, Marysville, California, with a Rosary at 7 PM. Catholic mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville, California, on Friday, August 3, 2018, at l l AM. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM. at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, California, where he will be laid to rest. A celebration of life will follow at St. Joseph's Hall at 702 C Street, Marysville, California.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to the St. Joseph's Restoration Fund.
