Obituary

Charles William Fink passed away peacefully on December 14, 2011 at 89 years of age.

He was born on November 8, 1922 in Deloit, Iowa to the parents of Eugene and Mildred Fink. He was a veteran of World War II where he flew 35 missions flying a B-24 Liberator bomber. He also participated in The Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 1957 he commanded one of three Boeing B-52 bombers on the first non-stop around- the-world flight in a jet powered aircraft; a Cold War operation to show the power of United States of America. He was a dedicated 26 year US Air Force Officer and loving husband and father.

On January 2, 1947 he married Evelyn Goeser of Denison, Iowa and raised three daughters (Debby, Carole & Jody) and one son (Chuck). He is also survived by two brothers in Iowa, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

There will be a rosary held at 7pm on Friday, December 16th, at Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Home in Marysville, CA. A celebratory Mass will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 17th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville. He will be placed to rest, with full military honors, in a private family burial at the Veterans National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial Masses or donations to St. Joseph's Food Locker (C.L.R.S.) would be appreciated.
