Charles Orin Hamaker, passed away May 24, 2018 at the age of 100. Born in Naples, Utah, September 17, 1917, he was the third oldest of thirteen siblings to LeVon Hamaker and Mary Elizabeth Jenkins-Hamaker.

Charles grew up in the Utah Basin just east of Salt Lake City and grew up as farm boy.

At an early age he came to California. Here he worked with heavy equipment. Through classes taken he became certified as a diesel electric engineer. In 1940 Charles was drafted in the Army at "Camp Beale" in Marysville, CA, while in the military he worked on landing craft for the 3rd Infantry Division that stormed the beaches on D-Day. His unit received the "Cross of War" by France for freeing Paris from the Nazi's. After his return home he became a contractor in four states and built two businesses in Berkely, CA.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holding several offices of leadership. Charles loved people and worked many years with young teens and adults. Charles and Louise were married on November 14, 1942.

Charles leaves behind his wife, Henrietta Louise Hamaker; his sons, Charles Bruce Hamaker of Houston, TX, Gary Doyle Hamaker of Erie, CO; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel at 1979 North Beale Rd., Marysville, CA 95901.
