Delbert Edward Songer, 83, passed away March 13, 2012 at home. Born March 29, 1928 in Marysville, CA.

Del was owner-operator of the family business, Harvey and Songer Wheel, Brake and Tire, established in 1969 until his retirement in 1991. Prior to and during those years, he was an independent owner- operator of logging and construction equipment.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1948-1952. He was a member of Peach Tree Golf and Country Club.

Being a shooting enthusiast, he was a member of NRA and active in Marysville Elks Lodge Trap Club, Oroville Trap League, Sacramento Trap League, Coon Creek and Timbuctoo Trap Shooters.

He enjoyed many RV trips with family and friends to California's North Coast, fishing and camping as well as the Sierra and adventures to Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, LaDonna R. Songer; three children: daughter, Susan Kathleen Jenkins (Edgar) of Citrus Heights; sons: Kirk Raymond Songer (Linda) of Live Oak, and James Michael Songer of Loma Rica; six grandchildren: Doreen Holden, Jennifer Rollins, Andy (Andrew), J.D., Joseph and Jonathan; and four great-grandchildren.

Delbert was preceded in death by his brother, Everal Albert Songer, Jr.

Del was a member of St. Joseph Church.

A Rosary will be recited on Tues., March 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wed., March 21, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church, 7th and C St. Marysville with Fr. Soane Kaniseli officiating and Fr. Godwin Xavier concelebrating. Burial will be at Sierra View Memorial Park, Olivehurst, CA.
