Donald Ray North, 64, of Browns Valley, CA passed away on June 15th, 2011 in Marysville, CA. Born on October 14, 1946 in Floydada, Texas, Don graduated from Marysville High School in 1965. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the U. S. Army and sent to Germany for 2 years. Shortly after being discharged from the Army, he moved to Porterville, CA where he married his mid-school sweetheart, Mary Webb. Don retired after 35 years as a California State worker in Porterville, CA. He enjoyed bowling, riding his Harley and going to the Marysville Raceway Park. Don is survived by a brother, James Castleberry, Sr. of Olivehurst, a sister, Gail Williams of Browns Valley, 3 nieces, Drenda Hubbard, Gina Williams & Terry Peterson, all of Olivehurst, a nephew, James Castleberry Jr., of Browns Valley, 4 great nieces, Rachelle & Abigail Williams & Adrien & Ella Peterson, 2 great nephews, Michael Hubbard & Tyler Peterson of Olivehurst. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary North of Porterville, mother, Jackie Castleberry of Olivehurst, father, Dub North of Texas and brother, Larry Castleberry of Houma, LA. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at noon, 4533 Meadow Way, Olivehurst, CA 95961.
