Edna Juanita Johnson, 87, of Marysville, California, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2012. Edna was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota on January 27, 1925.

Edna attended New Life Assembly in Linda, California for 35 years. She was involved with Yuba County Foster Care for 22 years and a member of The Yuba- Sutter Foster Parent Association for 19 years and opened her home to over 120 children, taking legal guardianship of 6 girls, Lisa, Diana, Angela, Sarah, Heather and Sonja.

Edna is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Hankin of Lexington, Kentucky.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Juanita Smotherman, Sharon McIntosh, Beverly Taylor and Glenda Cobb, 6 foster daughters, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service followed by a memorial service at New Life Assembly on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lipp and Sullivan located at 629 D. Street, Marysville, CA 95901.
