Obituary

Elaine passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home in Loma Rica on Saturday evening, November 17 with her husband Bill (married 69 years) and much of her close knit family at her side.

Elaine was born in Oakland on Oct. 13, 1920 and raised in Alameda. She graduated from Alameda High and later Heald's business (secretarial) school in Oakland. She married Bill while he was on a short furlough during WWII. They knew each other since childhood. They resided in Loma Rica in 1946, right after the war.

She was very active in the community, especially in the post war era, being a charter member of the Loma Rica Community Church, an original member of the LR Grange. In this pre-television era she was active in one sorority and many women's clubs and was active in the preparation of many social events at the community hall as well as being a 4H leader.

Later on Elaine was secretary for the principals at both MUHS and YCHS and retired as secretary to the director of the Yuba County Welfare dept.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eloise Doolittle, and her sister, Barbara Judy.

Her survivors include, Bill, and a brother, Stanley Doolittle of Newcastle. Her son and daughter- in-law, Richard & Patricia Coker of Loma Rica, and daughter and son- in-law, Joyce & Steve Palm of Atlanta, GA. Five grandchildren and their families which include seven great grand children: Murray Palm of Atlanta, GA; Traci Coker-Miranda of Sacramento; Heather Palm- Carter of Boynton Beach, FL; Kimberlyn Coker-Gonzales of Dundedin, FL and Jeff Coker of Sacramento.

Memorial services will be held at the Loma Rica Community Church on Thursday, November 29, at 11am. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, Elaine's wishes are that donations be sent to Sutter North Hospice Foundation, 400 Plumas Blvd., Suite 115, Yuba City, CA 95991.
