Elisa Alicia Castillo Mejia, age 87, of Olivehurst, California, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2018 at Rideout Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 9, 1930 in Culver City California, to Juan Mejia and Maria Perez de Mejia. Alicia was the youngest of seven children. She was raised and lived in Mexico City where she married the love of her life Alberto Geronimo Morales Castillo on July 31,1951. The family moved to Yuba City California in 1968 and resided in the Yuba-Sutter area thereafter. After 29 years of working at various places, she retired from Harters Cannery. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville, CA and was a member of the Golden Girls club for 14 years.

Alicia was an angel of hope to many and was a mother figure to many more, including all of her nieces and nephews. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Aunt and loved spending time with all of them. She was a best friend to many and enjoyed spending time with her group of friends "The Golden Girls".

Alicia was preceded in death by her husband Alberto Castillo, their daughter Augustina "Tina" Castillo, her grandson Jesus Ramirez Castillo and all her siblings. Her survivors include her daughter, Alicia Castillo of Olivehurst, CA; her sons, Jesus Castillo of Yuba City, CA, Alberto Castillo Jr. of Olivehurst, CA, Miguel Angel Castillo of Sacramento, CA, and Eduardo Castillo of Sacramento, CA; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alicia touched many lives and made friends everywhere she went. Those touched by her, whether you are family, friend or knew her, are invited to attend the Celebration of her Life.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm, followed by a Rosary starting at 7:00pm at Lipp & Sullivan Chapel at 629 D St., Marysville, CA 95901, officiated by Deacon Rafael Moreno.

Christian Mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 702 C St., Marysville, CA 95901 officiated by Father J. Manuel Ponce.

Christian Burial Service will be at the conclusion of the Mass and held at Sierra View Memorial Park located at 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA 95961.

Please join the family for food and refreshments at the Reception Hall located next to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
