Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Hadley (Betty) passed away on May 13th, 2011. Betty was born in Eagle Rock, California on September 10th, 1920. Betty graduated from UCLA and came to Marysville to work with the Yuba County Health Department. Betty married the late Harold D. Hadley, Sr. in 1943, while Harold was stationed at Beale Air Force Base (then Camp Beale) and together raised their five children. Betty chose to change her career, obtaining her teaching credential and worked for the Marysville Joint Unified School District. Betty was a kindergarten teacher at Walter Kynock School for many years and retired in 1982. Betty is fondly remembered by her many students. Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Beal, her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Tim Brieden, and her sons, and daughter-in- laws Harold Jr. and Julie Hadley, Sheldon and Jean Hadley, and Timothy and Alexandra Hadley. Betty is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ethel and Chouteau Garrison, her husband Harold Hadley Sr., and one child, John Hadley. A private service was held for family and friends and burial was at Sierra View Cemetery. A special thanks to Betty's primary caregivers, Maryann and Charlie Niesen, and to the staff at Sutter North Hospice. The family is requesting donations in memory of Elizabeth Ann Hadley to be made to Sutter North Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Directors (530) 742-2473.
