Geneva Irene Allen- Kano, 86, resident of Olivehurst, Ca. passed away on November 2, 2012 in Marysville, Ca. Geneva was born on January 12, 1926 in Batesville, Arkansas. Geneva moved to California in 1946 to be with her husband, Dean B Allen, who was released at Fort Beale following his service during WWII.

In Geneva's sixty- six years as a resident of Yuba County, she had a variety of occupations while constructing with her husband, their home, rental apartments and commercial business buildings. Geneva obtained her cosmetology license and opened her own beauty shop in Olivehurst, Ca.

Throughout her life Geneva enjoyed many activities, which included square dancing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, fishing, and trips to Reno. Geneva was an active member of the Grange and her Baptist Church. Geneva was a woman who selflessly provided unsolicited care and assistance to those in need. Thankfully Geneva touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity all the way to the end. Geneva will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Geneva was one of six children born to the late Roe and Wadie DeWitt. She was the beloved wife of Dean B. Allen, until his death and later married to Herbert Kano, until his death.

Geneva is survived by her devoted son, Alvin Allen; beloved grandson, Dean Allen (Jennifer); and treasured granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Allen; as well as countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 2pm at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel in Marysville, Ca. followed by graveside services at Sierra View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held November 7, 2012 from 4-7pm at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel.
