Henry Jacob Reimers Jr, 85, passed away on January 26, 2025. He was born on September 15, 1939, in Colusa, CA, to his loving parents, Henry Reimers Sr., and Alice Smart Reimers.
Henry is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Diane; sons, Gregory (Christie), Michael (Masako), Douglas, (Nancy); four grandchildren Brielle, Colton, Takuma, and Alexis; sister, Nancy Hoyle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brother, Don; and sister, Joan.
Henry was proud to be a native of Colusa, CA, even though he only lived there for two weeks. He grew up and attended schools in Sacramento, CA, graduating from CSU Sacramento in 1962.
While at Sacramento Jr. College, he was a record holding member of the swimming team.
He always wanted to be an accountant and achieved his goal, passing the Certified Public Accountant exam and working first for LH Penny Inc in Sacramento.
He moved to Marysville, CA, and joined Chipman and Renfrow Accounting Corporation in 1968. He opened his own office, Henry Reimers Accountancy Corporation in Yuba City, CA, in 1975.
He was a lifetime member of the Marysville Rotary Club. Henry retired in 2020, after 54 years in the accounting business.
Balancing his professional career, Henry was a youth coach for all three of his sons. He was a Marysville Little League coach and Yuba Sutter Youth Soccer League coach and founding member, serving on the Board of Directors.
Needing a coach at Marysville High School, Henry volunteered to coach the varsity and junior varsity soccer teams. In the beginning there were not enough players to form a team, so he worked hard to recruit boys so the high school could field a team.
Henry also enjoyed snow skiing with his family, taking vacations to Northstar and Mammoth Mountain.
Later in life, Henry and Diane caught the 'travel bug' and enjoyed small boat cruises to Alaska and many river cruises in Europe.
He told friends that their trip to Russia was the most interesting trip they took. They also enjoyed camping, trips to Lake Alpine with family, and walking on the beach at Fort Bragg.
A Celebration of Life honoring Henry will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 4 PM, at Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Home at 629 D Street, Marysville CA.
