August 15, 1933 - February 11, 2017

Howard Sterling Deatsch, 83, of Yuba City passed away February 11, 2017. He was an insurance agent for 55 years and a military veteran. He graduated from Chico State in 1959 and was active in Lambdi Phi fraternity.

Howard liked playing golf and tennis with his friends. He had many friends whom he enjoyed going out to lunch.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Deatsch, mother Alice Deatsch and father Charles Deatsch of Chico, CA.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Marie Deatsch, son Robert Sterling Deatsch (Mary Reinhardt), daughter DeAnna Marie Taylor (Michael Taylor), grandchildren Paige Marie Taylor, Brandon Michael Taylor, Mason Sterling Deatsch, and Jake and Sarah Larsen.

Howard was a member of St. Isidore's Church, Peachtree Country Club, Elks Lodge, the Yuba City Racquet Club and Phi Delta.

We will miss him. He was always thoughtful and considerate to all he met. He was a good father and husband.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22nd. Viewing will be 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Directors, 629 D St., Marysville. Mass will be at 11:00 am Thursday, February 23rd at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Yuba City. Celebration of Life will follow mass at the hall behind the church.
