Jason William Ruscigno, 37, of Yuba City, CA, passed away August 16, 2017, in New Orleans. He was born February 8, 1980, at Fremont Hospital in Yuba City, CA.

Jason was a Culinary Artist and studied under Rick Prondzinsky and John Nicoletti. He was also a Dog Handler and received training from H4H with K-2. He was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area.

He is survived by his mother; Stephanie Ruscigno, sister, Jennifer (Bjorn) Vorderman, nieces; Isabella, Gianna, and nephew, Leif of Yuba City, CA, cousins; Rosa Bettencourt of Gridley, CA, Helen Bettencourt of Oroville, CA, and father, James Toffton, Jr. (Sue) of North Carolina, grandmother, Lillian Ruscigno of Santa Clara, and aunt, Valerie Ruscigno of San Jose, uncles; Jeffrey (Sue) of Corona, uncles. Jack, Matthew, and Ricky Lee and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his beloved great-grandparents; Jack and Helen Ruscigno, grandfathers; James Toffton, Sr. and Harry Ruscigno, grandmother, Ellen Toffton, and cousins, Robbie Little and Mark Harris.

Jason belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Martial Arts Society.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 3pm-7pm at Lipp & Sullivan, Marysville, with a Rosary at 7pm. Services will be held at St. Joseph's, Marysville, CA, at 11:00 am Thursday, September 21, 2017, officiated by Fr. Avron Brown, of St. Isidore's, Yuba City. Burial will follow the mass at Sutter Cemetery. Immediately after will be a reception at Veterans Hall in Yuba City. All welcome to attend. Catered but potluck contributions appreciated.
