Joan Obirek, age 78, of Marysville, passed away June 9, 2016. Born on February 24, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 12 years.

Joan was a secretary for Mt. Diablo Unified School District for 15 years and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville.

She is survived by a daughter Bonny Cambron of Oakdale; a sister Delphine Bush of Elmhurst, Illinois; grandchildren Linsey Cambron, David Zarghami and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lacy Bitner and daughter Beth Zarghami.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm with a Rosary following at 7:00 pm at Lipp & Sullivan Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ponce officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dobbins.
