John William "Johnny" Dabkowski, aged 92, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Yuba City, CA. Born in New Britain, CT, he lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to his God and his country, and a passion for travel and exploration. Johnny graduated from New Britain High School and furthered his education by earning an Associate's Degree in Electronics. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954, a period during which he served with distinction as an aircraft engine mechanic and dedicated himself to the values of duty and excellence. Following his military service, Johnny embarked on a successful career as an electronics technician with Skinner Precision/Honeywell Corporation, where he worked from 1955 until his retirement. He was a devout member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Marysville, CA. Johnny's personal interests were diverse and included photography, rock collecting, astronomy, archaeology, gardening, and camping with his wife and daughters. These hobbies reflected his love for nature and his incessant curiosity about the world. Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Pampuro) Dabkowski; his sisters, Frances (Dabkowski) Andy and Jean (Dabkowski) Cummings; his daughter, Ellyn (John) Koski; his son-in-law, Ernesto (Gay) Di Giordano; grandchildren, Rebecca (Doug Davey) Koski, Victor Koski, Teresa (Thomas) Sowell, Sara (Samuel) Wilkinson, Matthew (Jin-Cai) Di Giordano, Joseph (Alison) Di Giordano, Laura (David) Hernandez, and Phillip (Breanna) Di Giordano; along with 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Josephine (Rozycki) Dabkowski, and his daughter, Lynn (Dabkowski) Di Giordano. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Marysville, CA, on August 29, 2024, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Lincoln, CA. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN, in lieu of flowers. Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Home of Marysville, CA, is assisting the family with arrangements. Johnny's legacy of love, service, and integrity will forever be cherished and remembered by those who knew him.
