Joseph "Joe" Pittenger, age 95, of Yuba City, California, passed away peacefully at his home on July 6, 2022. He has resided in Yuba City since 1998, was born in Korbel, California in 1927, and spent most of his life in Eureka, California.

He served proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He lived a full life, enjoyed singing and playing his guitar with the band J.P. and The Drifters and later for his church. He worked for nearly 30 years at Nielsen Freight Lines in Eureka and later for Eureka Transit Authority.

He was a loving husband, wonderful father and an amazing grandpa/papa. He is survived by his loving wife Temple Pittenger, children Laura Pittenger, Jolena Strawmier, Ronda Avery, Tammy Bolander all of Yuba City, CA, Joann Grisham of Mills, WY, Joe Pittenger Jr. of Spokane, WA, Patty Hooper of Eureka, CA, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial will be held at Oceanview Cemetery on Monday, July, 18, 2022 at 2:30 PM.
