Mrs. Laverne Ann Wilson, of Yuba City, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017 at the age of 86.

Laverne was born on April 24, 1930 in Woodland, California. Her parents, Verne and Wilma Schmutzler, moved Laverne and her sister Donna to Hammonton where they grew up in the gold fields of California. Laverne studied Journalism at Yuba College.

In 1949, Laverne married Albert (Bill) Wilson of Wheatland, and the couple had two daughters and two sons.

Laverne worked at Bradley's Department Store for years and also worked as a teacher aid in Live Oak, California where she loved working with the children.

Laverne was preceded in death by her son Bryan and daughter Leslie Rime.

Laverne will be loved and missed by her surviving husband of 67 years Bill Wilson, son Kevin and wife Lulu, daughter Robyn Panecaldo and husband Mike, sister Donna Kilby; Grandchildren Jaymie Rime, Bryan Rime, Kevin Panecaldo and Amanda Sneed as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

At Laverne's request, no services will be held.
