Obituary

Louis Frank Strnad, age 101, of Yuba City passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2011 at Rideout Hospital in Marysville, CA with his daughter by his side. He was born on June 21st, 1909 in Manhattan, New York. Louis has been a 30 year resident of the Yuba-Sutter area. He has lived in California since 1952, moving temporarily to Sacramento from Connecticut. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Yuba City, Hillcrest Ward. His survivors are Margaret Lefevre of Yuba City, Carol Van Luick of Washington State, Charles Strnad of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 54 years, Esther Ann Strnad, son, Louis of Yuba City and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lefevre of Kelseyvile, Lake County. He has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Louis was an avid fisherman and fished any lake, pond, ocean where he happened to be. He always planted large gardens wherever he settled down. He was a hard working, reliable man. He was a great, gentle and loving man always liked by all he met. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. Services will be handled by Lipp and Sullivan of Marysville on Wednesday June 15, at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel, Clark and B St., Yuba City. Viewing will be Tuesday, June 14, 2pm-8pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Directors (530) 742-2473.
