Lynette Ann Stevens, of Chico, California, passed away peacefully surrounded with love on Monday, March 21, 2022, from complications of COPD. Lynette was born February 11, 1941, in Long Beach, California, to Bert Sherrill and Mildred (Brown) Sherrill.
Lynette shared her life with John, her husband of 50 years. Lynette met the love of her life, her neighbor in Southern California and together they raised four children, Richard, William (Liam), Theresa, and Michael. She had five grandchildren who meant the world to her Stephen, Kelly, Richard, Wesley, and Makai and five great-grandchildren who lit up her life; Logan, Stephen, Abbigayle, Richard, and Conner. Lynette shared a special bond with her brother Ray Sherrill, and a special place in her heart for her younger sister Theresa Jane, who passed away in childhood.
Lynette ran a successful catering truck company for many years in Southern California with her friend Carol but found her true passion when she moved to Loma Rica, California, and found her Tara. Lynette and her husband John turned a plot of land into a beautiful escape through blood, sweat, and tears. She became a master gardener, and you could always find her out on her land making it beautiful. She was a doer and there wasn't a project she couldn't tackle.
Lynette was very involved in her local community of Loma Rica and was an active member of the Lions Club where she formed lifelong friendships that impacted her life greatly. Lynette had an unparallel zest for life and loved traveling the world with her husband. She was an avid reader and a social butterfly making friends wherever she went.
Lynette's graveside service will take place April 2, 2022, at the Peoria Cemetery in Browns Valley. Lynette's celebration of life will be immediately following at the Lions Club of Loma Rica.
