Obituary

Mary lost a long battle with Alzheimer disease in Live Oak on January 30, 2012 at the age of 78.

Mary's parents John & Gertrude Lefurgey lived in Stockton, CA where Mary was born on Nov. 18, 1933. They moved to Wheatland, CA when Mary was just an infant.

She married Earnest "Buddy" Coker and they made their home in Wheatland for 52 years before Buddy passed away on 1/20/02.

She is survived by her daughter Carrie Forrest of Pacific Grove, CA, and two sons: John (Debbie) of Wheatland and Larry (JoAnn) of Pleasant Grove. She also leaves behind five grandsons: Sean (Fran), Jeremy (Cheryl), Jason (Carolyn), Shane & Joshua, and six great grandchildren.

Mary and Buddy loved to take their grandsons camping and fishing to their favorite places, Little Grass Valley Reservoir and Fort Bragg. They have many wonderful memories of all those camping trips, fishing, crabbing and getting abalone. Mary was always baking something delicious and she loved to share it with her family and many friends. She was well known for her "Cowboy Cookies" and homemade raviolis.

After Mary retired from the Lone Tree School, Wheatland Elementary School District she spent endless hours working in her yard and tending to her beautiful flowers. She had endless energy and she never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Betty Harrison, Barbara Uriz and Ida Foster.

Graveside service will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wheatland Cemetery.
