Mary Ellen Lucas, age 86, of Wheatland, CA, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, CA. Mary was born December 11, 1929 in Stroud, OK to William and Nora Early.

Mary attended elementary and high school in Stroud, OK. Mary met the love of her life, Dealis Lucas, in Oklahoma City, OK. Dealis was in the Army/Airforce Service at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. They were married May 20, 1950.

Their travels brought them to CA where Mary continued working with Erickson Lumber Company as Payroll/Personnel secretary. She retired July 17, 1988 after 32 years. Mary also worked as Wheatland City Treasurer from 1991-1998.

Mary is survived by her sister, Frances Bendure of Wheatland and many nephews and nieces. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora Early, husband Dealis Lucas, and sister Betty Rogers, brother-in-law Bob Bendure, and nephew Tom Bendure.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 am. Services will be at the Wheatland Cemetery, 4865 Wheatland Rd. Wheatland, CA. Services are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan Chapel, Marysville, CA.
