Our loving and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Tomko Sosh, passed away Sept. 27, 2011 at her home in Loma Rica, CA.

Born Dec. 4, 1913 in Sheppton, PA, into a family of four older brothers (John, George, Mike, and Mitro; all deceased), she was the youngest child and only daughter of Michael and Helena Tomko.

We were privileged to have Mary with us for 97 years. She was a kind and caring spirit who inspired in all of us a sense of adventure. Mary was a world traveler who loved camping, fishing and hunting. She was an exceptional cook who always made sure everyone was well fed and tucked in at night. Everyone was welcomed at her generous table, and in her loving embrace you knew you were home.

Mary saw something exciting in everyday, often asking "What are we going to do for fun today?" She could be ready to go in minutes (whether a road trip, shopping, picnicking or just going on a long drive)! With Mary you could never be lost because even a wrong turn was an opportunity for something new and undiscovered.

Her life was dedicated to her family. Mary's numerous handcrafted gifts were wonderful surprises; treasures from her heart and hands.

Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Albert J. Sosh, Sr.; and their two children, Irene Sosh of Loma Rica, and Al Sosh, Jr. of Las Vegas. She is also survived by three children: Joe Yankoskie of Deer Lodge, MT, Carol Kimball of Great Falls, MT, and Virginia Yankoskie of Portland, OR, from her marriage to Joseph Yankoskie who died in World War II. Mary would also say she had a "fourth daughter", her granddaughter, Angela Sosh Olson, whom she helped raise. Her joy of life continues in her seven grandchildren: Mike & Mark Allen, Jay Yankoskie, Jan Sutherland, Leigh Perkins, Angela Olson, and April Sosh; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and all generations to come.

As she would say, "Don't say good-bye, say I'll see you later." Until then, may God be with her on another great adventure.

Cremation is under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan with private Inurnment and Celebration of Life at a later date.
