July 31, 1945 - April 24, 2018
Melvin John Borgman, a lifelong Sutter county resident, went home to meet the Lord on Tuesday April 24, 2018. He is survived by his bride of 49 years, Charlotte (Morrison) Borgman.
Melvin attended Marcum Elementary and East Nicolaus High School, where he played football. Melvin served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He married Charlotte May 3, 1969, settled in Pleasant Grove and began farming.
He and Charlotte raised five children, Christina, Anthony, Alicia, Johanna and John, and enjoyed his time with 9 grandchildren, Michael, Emily (Anthony and his wife Jeni), Luke, Daniel (Alicia and her husband Andrew), Emma, Ainsley (Johanna and her husband Graham), Jason, Audrey and Nicolaus (John and his wife Denise). Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Henry Borgman and Vera Virginia Corliss.
Viewing will be at Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Directors, Marysville, Friday May 4, 2018 4-7 pm, followed by a Rosary Service. Funeral Mass will be at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Nicolaus, Saturday May 5, 2018 at 10 am, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery.
