Peggy Theresa Stier, 90 of Olivehurst, CA passed away September 3, 2012 at her residence with her daughter at her side. Born October 9, 1921 in Belleville, New Jersey to Aniella and Lucy Schiavo, she was a Yuba Sutter area resident since 1980.

Peggy graduated from Belleville High School. She worked for many years for Bradey's and Jays Department Stores in Marysville. She was on the Board of Directors of Easter Seals, Yuba Sutter Chapter. She was also an active supporter of Butchie's Pool. Peggy was a member of Mercy Guild and the Amici Italiani Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ferrari of Olivehurst, CA; son, Charles and wife Millie Stier of Akins, South Carolina; brother, Daniel Schiavo of Nichols, South Carolina; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Stier; son, Robert James Ferrari; brothers, Tony, Michael, Patsy, Frank and Ralph Schiavo; sister, Peggy Jeffers and Judy Nemtz and her parents, Aniello and Lucy Schiavo.

Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, September 10, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church at Sampson and Rideout Way, Marysville, CA. A visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel. Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Park in Olivehurst, CA. A potluck reception will follow the graveside services at the Villa Seville Mobile Home Park Club House, 2295 McGowan Pkwy, Olivehurst, CA.
