Robert Charles "Bob" LaFountaine, 59, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2022, in Marysville, CA. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and soon-to-be grandfather.
Bob was born on March 8, 1963, in Providence, RI, to James and Barbara LaFountaine. He graduated from Tolman High School in 1981. He continued his education by earning an Associates Degree in drafting from New England Institute of Technology in 1983. He joined the United States Air Force in 1985, and earned his CCAF during his career. He retired after 23 years in the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant, but continued his career as a general contractor for an additional 14 years to follow. His military career allowed him to live all around the world, from California to Germany. He was rewarded with an uncountable number of awards, ribbons, and honors throughout his career.
Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, and sister, Nancy Seaton. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marilyn, their daughter Bethany and her husband Edgar Gonzalez. Bob also leaves behind his brother James, and sister Linda and her husband Ron Tanguay, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a passionate New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, volunteering for animal rescues, and served as a Knight of Columbus for St. Joseph Church. Those who knew Bob would describe him as a kind and gentle spirit.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life. A mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marysville, CA, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11am.
