Obituary

Ronald Clair Hoxworth, of Loma Rica, CA, was born on May 1, 1938, and passed away December 29, 2020. He was 82.

Ronald was a lifelong resident of Loma Rica, growing up on the Burris ranch with his parents, siblings and loving Grandmother Burris. He was a 4-H member and loved his electrical project that he developed quite a knack for and was also a long time member of the Mid-Valley Historical Auto Club.

In 1964, he moved with his parents about a mile up the road on the ranch and began his nearly daily 4 mile walk to the Loma Rica Store and back for 54 years. He loved visiting with neighbors along the way and made many friends at the store while he rested for his return trip home.

Ronald was a fantastic practical joker and family and anyone that got to know him was often entertained by his antics and he especially loved it if you played a joke on him. He also loved playing Bingo. Among his most treasured possessions was his 1929 Model A Ford that he spent many hours driving around the field by his house and he never tired of just tinkering with it.

Ronald loved spending time with family and was so cherished and such a blessing to each of them. It was always a treat for him to turn the ice cream maker to make homemade ice cream for the family gatherings.

He also loved traveling with his brother, Raymond and sister-in-law, Pauline and made numerous trips to Alaska and Montana. Ronald was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Alita Hoxworth; his brother, Raymond Hoxworth; sister-in-law, Pauline Hoxworth; brother-in-law, William Taylor; and niece, Darlene Kincade.

He is survived by his sister, Ethel Taylor; niece and nephews, Curtis (Kris) Hoxworth of LaPorte, CA, Raeline (Gerald) Perry of Princeton, CA, Duane (Jewelie) Hoxworth of Ovando , MT, Russell Wise of Loma Rica, CA, Donald (Linda) Wise of Eureka, CA; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.
