Vera Ellen Fries, 99, of Brownsville, CA, passed away June 16, 2018. She was born September 17, 1918 in Hazelton, ID to William Wesley Lee and Bertha May Lalumondier. She was raised in the Sacramento area where she went to school through the 12th grade.

On September 17, 1940, she married Raymond Fries. In 1964 they opened Ray's General Hardware in Brownsville, CA and she helped run the business with her husband Raymond until they retired. She loved to travel, camp and cook for her family and all the grandkids and great-grandkids.

Vera is survived by her daughter Susan Rae Murphy; sons, Dennis Fries and Wesley Fries; 9 grandkids; 17 great grandkids and 22 great-great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Fries.

Graveside services will be held June 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Brownsville Cemetery in Brownsville, CA.
