Wayne Nelson Springer, 91, of Hallwood, passed away on July 26, 2022 at his home with family nearby.
He was born in Biggs, CA on Easter Sunday morning April 5, 1931 to Zola (Moak) and William Springer. After graduating from Yuba City High School, he joined the Air Force. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Rose Wurm and started their 70 years of marriage in Rapid City, South Dakota. After fulfilling his patriotic duty he settled in Hallwood to farm and raise his family.
He and Rose created their perfect family life together raising three children and being rewarded with 11 grandchildren and blessed with 21 great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rose Springer, daughter Susan Buist (Danny), son Steven Springer (Jodi), daughter Janet Wooten (Todd), 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Delbert Springer, sisters, Leotta Martin and Doreen Wolverton, and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Zola Hessee and William Springer, son Allen Springer and sister Wilma Wormley.
Viewing will be at Lipp & Sullivan on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 5pm-7pm.
Graveside service will be at Sierra View Cemetery on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11am followed by a Celebration of Life at the Hallwood Community Church of the Nazarene at 2825 Hwy. 20 at 1pm and a gathering immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wayne's name to the Hallwood Community Church of the Nazarene.
