William (Bill) Hudson, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 16th. He lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by adventure, service, and unwavering love for his family and friends.



Bill was born to William and Mary (Powell) Hudson and raised by Lloyd and Aileen Hudson. He attended Browns Elementary School and East Nicolaus High School, furthering his education at Yuba College and UC Davis. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to farming walnuts, a passion that spanned decades and six generations.



Bill was a dedicated member of the South Sutter community, serving on the Reclamation District No. 1001 Board for 35 years, including several terms as President. He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge for over 62 years, and served as a volunteer firefighter with the Nicolaus Volunteer Fire Department from 1965 to 1984.



Known for his adventurous spirit, "Wild Bill" (as he was affectionately nicknamed at some point) was active throughout his life, and loved water and snow skiing, golf, pool, and spending time outdoors.



Bill is predeceased by his wife Lynda, whom he met in December of 1981, and they were married the following February. Over their 37 years of marriage, they traveled the world together, visiting far-off destinations on cruise ships, and traveling the US in their travel trailer with their beloved doggies.



Bill is survived by his children Jim (Becky) Hudson, Lynne (Mark) Pearce, Dean (Sarah) Hudson, and Mary (Jason) Luros, his grandchildren, Curtis, Alan, Samantha, Lauren, Olivia, Ethan, Aden, Beatrix, Samuel, Ashley, Melvin, and Corey. He was preceded in death by his father, William, mother Mary, wife Lynda, son Michael, and granddaughter Elizabeth.



A Funeral Service will be held on December 6th at 11 am at St. Boniface Church in Nicolaus, followed by a private burial and reception at Rio Oso Hall. A Catholic Rosary/Vigil Prayer Service will be held on December 5th at 7 pm at Lipp & Sullivan in Marysville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
